Rice Krispie Treats

I had not eaten these since I was a child and I forgot just how good they are.  I made these the other day for a birthday party, I needed to bring something that was wheat-free.  Instead of cutting them into squares I used my muffin tray, so much easier!

These were a huge hit, I wish I had made more :)

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 (10 ounce) package regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniture marshmallows

Grease a muffin pan or baking pan.

Measure out Rice Krispies into a large bowl and set aside.  Melt the butter or margarine in a large saucepan.  Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir until melted.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the rice krispies.  Mix together quickly and press the mixture in to the prepared baking pan.

As soon as it has cooled its ready to eat, yum!

They're addictive, that's for sure.

They're making me crave some myself, LOL.

See, now THAT is what I wish I made instead of the cake! That's perfect!

Classic dessert. Who doesn't love rice krispie treats? If you ever want to take them over the top, check out Baked: New Frontiers in Baking. They have a version with peanut butter and milk chocolate that's SO delicious.

I used to make these all the time in high school. YUM! The muffin pan idea is great.

I have a box of rice krispies in my pantry that I have been meaning to use to make these treats. I also have not had them in ages, and the muffin pan is a fabulous idea.
