Tuesdays with Dorie - Four Star Chocolate Bread Pudding
I really didn't know if i was going to make this weeks challenge. I didn't get much sleep last night and am very tired (eyelids starting to droop as i write). Then i thought of every one else making the effort and felt i should too.
I didn't have plain chocolate so i used milk chocolate and cut back a little on the sugar. I used raisins and scattered a bit of white chocolate on the top.
Thank you to Lauren of Upper East Side Chronicle for this pick, it was an unexpected hit (for me).
I wasn't expecting to like this, but it was delicious! I couldn't wait and burnt my tongue, haha, serves me right. I could only have one small portion before my chocolate headache set in, it was worth it though. My kitchen smelt delicious too!
Check back on thursday for this weeks Craving Ellie in my Belly.

I'm glad it was a surprise hit for you and that you really enjoyed it! Hope your tongue is feeling better!
Mmm nothing beats milk chocolate and the smell of bread baking!
Nice work!!!
Oh burnt tongue, ow! LOL I am a fan on vanilla custard bread pudding, but I really liked this one too. It was even better drizzled with chocolate sauce or cream anglaise!
It's always fun when whatever you happen to have in the cupboard provides an interesting variation on the original. I guess that's why we have these things in the cupboard to begin with -- you obviously like milk and white chocolate!
Glad you liked it, I wasn't crazy about it though... O well, on to next weeks Chocolate Cream Tart!
Ouch -- sorry about the tongue burn! Glad this was a surprise hit for you -- you deserve it with the little sleep you've been getting! It looks delicious!
Wow...yours looks really lovely with all those added bits. The raisins and white chocolate sound lovely. And, it looks lovely! Great job.
Glad you liked it. We loved it but we were already bread pudding fans. Great job on yours!
Oh, I love, love, love it when TWD produces an unexpected favorite recipe! Great idea to use the milk chocolate and the white chocolate too. Next week's tart will be instant headache for sure (but it's really good)
Nancy
glad you were able to fit this in - now go get some sleep!
It was a surprize hit for me too. I used milk chocolate as well. Get some sleep and see you on Thurs with Elli
Ha ha - I burned my mouth too!
I hope you are napping right now...
I found it hard to wait to dig in, too! I love how you put the white chocolate on the top, I bet that was so tasty. I always love it when I make something because I should and end up loving it. It was a big hit at our house, too. Rest up for next week (more chocolate, so maybe not the best for your headaches!)
Your bread pudding looks fantastic. I'm glad it was a hit for you!
Surprise hits are the best, aren't they? It was the same for me :)
I'm glad you liked this...I think we all have a chocolate headache this month, but it's been worth it!
Glad you used raisins, love them!
Sounds like we're in the same boat. I had no expectations for this recipe and I really loved it!
Looks good. I am glad you liked it!
So happy that you loved it, it is nice to be surprised by a recipe.
Aren't you excited when something works out just right. Looks just perfect.
Glad you joined us in making the bread pudding . . . and glad you liked it, too! :)
Nice! Sometimes the surprise hits are the best ones.
